West Highland White Hand Painted Ceramic Heart Super Seconds

A little snowy Westie for someone whose heart belongs to one. 🤍🐾

This sweet hand painted West Highland White Terrier ceramic heart decoration features a little Westie sitting in the snow, looking very smart in a rusty-orange neckerchief.

With those unmistakable pointy ears, bright expression and fluffy white silhouette, the design has been individually hand painted by me in my Shropshire studio. Raised white ceramic details create the snowy ground and falling snow around our little Westie.

Finished with a white organza ribbon for hanging, it would make a lovely Westie gift, Christmas decoration or keepsake for a West Highland White Terrier owner.

Size & Details: Approximate size 11cm x 12cm, plus approximately 10cm ribbon. Individually hand painted in my Shropshire studio.

Why is this a Super Second?

This little Westie is joining my Super Seconds Festival because the glaze developed crazing during firing.

Crazing appears as very fine lines within the glazed surface. It doesn't affect the use of the decoration, but it does mean this heart doesn't quite meet the standard I require for my full-priced ceramics.

Please note that crazing is notoriously difficult to photograph. The fine lines can be almost invisible in some lighting and may only become noticeable when the glaze catches the light at certain angles.

I've tried to show the crazing as clearly as possible in the photographs, so please zoom in and look carefully at all the images before purchasing.

As each heart is individually hand painted, little variations in brushwork and expression are part of its handmade character.

Perfectly imperfect although judging by that little face, I don't think this Westie is accepting criticism. 😂🐾
