Suffragette Handmade Pin/Badge/Brooch
2018 marked the 100 year anniversary of some women in the UK receiving the rights to vote (2028 will see the 100 year anniversary of all women over the age of 21 get their right to vote).
It is down to the hard work and personal suffering and struggles of women such as Emmeline Pankhurst and her band of working class women that eventually wore down Parliament into relenting to public pressure to allow women to vote. That inspired me to make my own little tribute to these inspiring women.
My hand drawn suffragette with her neatly styled hair and dressed in her Edwardian dress is proudly wearing her Votes for women sash of the suffragette colours of white (for purity) purple (for loyalty and dignity) and green (for hope) and carrying her Votes for Women placard.
This pin is hand made from a non-toxic shrink plastic and coated in a clear resin and mounted onto a silver coloured brass butterfly clutch tie tack pin back.
The measurements are as follows; 45mm x 35mm or 1.77 inches x 1.4 inches approximately. Because this is a handmade item, the sizes of each pin can vary slightly and the measurements are meant as a rough guide only.
Perfect gift for mothers day, Christmas Day, birthday or even as a gift for yourself.
Small bubbles may occur during the curing process and this is part of the hand made process and is not a fault.
When not wearing please store away from sunlight
