A little handmade heart for someone who has completely lost theirs to a Border Collie. ❤️🐾
This beautiful hand painted Red and White Border Collie ceramic heart decoration features a rather handsome Collie sitting in the snow, wrapped up snugly in a warm red scarf.
With his soft red-brown and white colouring, distinctive Collie profile and raised hand-painted snow details, he's full of character and looks remarkably pleased with himself!
Each ceramic heart is individually hand painted by me in my Shropshire studio, meaning there will always be little variations in brushstrokes, colouring and expression. No two are completely identical.
Finished with a white organza ribbon for hanging, this would make a lovely Red and White Border Collie gift, a thoughtful keepsake for a Collie owner or a special little decoration for any dog-loving home.
Why is this a Super Second?
This little Collie is joining my Super Seconds Festival because the glaze has developed crazing during firing.
Crazing appears as a network of very fine lines within the glazed surface. It means the heart doesn't quite meet the standard I require for my full-priced pieces, but it's still far too lovely to go to waste.
Please note that crazing is notoriously difficult to photograph. The fine lines can almost disappear and are often only visible when the glaze catches the light at particular angles.
I've tried to show the crazing as clearly as possible in the photographs, so please zoom in and look carefully at all the images before purchasing.
The amount and position of the crazing may vary between individual hearts, and because each is hand painted, there may also be small differences in colour and brushwork.
A little imperfect? Perhaps.
But he's a Border Collie. He's far more interested in whether you've brought the ball. 😂🐶
