Collie Black and White Hand Painted Ceramic Heart

For the person whose heart belongs to a Collie. ❤️🐾

This lovely hand painted Border Collie ceramic heart decoration features a beautiful black and white Collie sitting in the snow, wrapped up against the chill in a warm red scarf.

With that unmistakable Collie profile, gorgeous black and white markings and raised hand-painted snow details, this little heart is a celebration of one of our cleverest and quite possibly busiest! four-legged friends.

Each ceramic heart is individually hand painted by me in my Shropshire studio, so there will always be slight variations in the brushwork, colouring and expression. That's part of what makes every Sister Sister piece unique.

Finished with a white organza ribbon for hanging, it would make a thoughtful Border Collie gift, a keepsake for a dog lover or a lovely little piece of handmade decoration for a Collie loving home.

Why is this a Super Second?

This Border Collie heart is joining my Super Seconds Festival because the glaze has developed crazing during firing.

Crazing appears as a network of very fine lines within the glazed surface. It means the heart doesn't quite meet the standard I require for my full-priced pieces, but it's far too lovely to go to waste.

Crazing is notoriously difficult to photograph because the fine lines are often only visible when the light catches the glaze at particular angles. I've tried to show it as clearly as possible in the photographs, so please zoom in and look carefully at all the images before purchasing.

The amount and position of the crazing may vary from heart to heart.

It may be slightly imperfect, but then this Collie doesn't seem remotely bothered. He's far too busy waiting for someone to throw a ball. 😂🐾
