Cocker Spaniel Black Hand Painted Ceramic Heart Super Seconds

For the Cocker Spaniel who knows that a good scarf makes any winter walk better. 🐾🧣

This beautiful hand painted Black Cocker Spaniel ceramic heart decoration features a rather elegant black Cocker sitting patiently in the snow, wrapped up against the chill in a warm red scarf.

With those unmistakable long ears, soulful eyes and wonderfully glossy black coat, this little chap has been individually hand painted by me in my Shropshire studio. Raised white details create falling snow around him and snowy drifts beneath his paws, while a white organza ribbon makes the heart ready to hang.

A lovely Cocker Spaniel gift for a dog lover, Christmas decoration or keepsake for someone whose Cocker Spaniel is quite firmly a member of the family.

Why is this a Super Second?

This heart is joining my Super Seconds Festival because the glaze has developed crazing during firing. Crazing appears as a network of very fine lines within the glazed surface. It doesn't stop this heart from being a beautiful decorative piece, but it does mean it doesn't meet the standard required for my full-priced ceramics.

Please note that crazing is notoriously difficult to photograph. The fine lines can disappear completely in some lighting and become much more noticeable when the glaze catches the light from another angle.

I've done my best to show the crazing in the photographs, but please zoom in and look carefully at all images before purchasing.

As every heart is individually hand painted, there will naturally be small variations in brushstrokes, colour and detailing, making each one a little different.

A perfectly imperfect little Cocker looking for his forever home. ❤️
