Border Terrier Hand Painted Ceramic Heart Super Seconds

For anyone who knows that life is simply better with a Border Terrier in it. 🐾❤️

This charming hand painted Border Terrier ceramic heart decoration features a rather adorable little Border Terrier sitting patiently in the snow, sporting a red neckerchief and his very best “Did somebody say walk?” expression.

With his scruffy little face, inquisitive head tilt and hand-painted details, he's full of the character that makes Border Terriers so irresistible. Raised white painted details create little dots of falling snow and snow beneath his paws.

Each ceramic heart is individually hand painted by me in my Shropshire studio, so there will always be slight differences in brushstrokes, colour and expression. No two are ever completely identical.

Finished with a white organza ribbon for hanging, this heart would make a lovely Border Terrier gift, a thoughtful keepsake for a dog owner or a special handmade decoration for someone who adores this characterful little breed.

Why is this a Super Second?

This Border Terrier heart is joining my Super Seconds Festival because the glaze has developed crazing during firing.

Crazing appears as a network of very fine lines within the glazed surface. It means this piece doesn't quite meet the standard I require for my full-priced ceramics, but it's still far too lovely to go to waste.

Please note that crazing is notoriously difficult to photograph. The fine lines can be almost invisible and are often only noticeable when the glaze catches the light at certain angles.

I've tried to show the crazing as clearly as possible in the photographs, so please zoom in and look carefully at all the images before purchasing.

The amount and position of the crazing may vary between individual hearts, and because each piece is hand painted, there may also be small variations in colour and brushwork.

Slightly imperfect, exceedingly scruffy and completely adorable. ❤️🐶
