A little handmade heart for someone whose heart belongs to a Bernese. ❤️🐾
This charming hand painted Bernese Mountain Dog ceramic heart decoration features a rather handsome Bernese sitting patiently in the snow, wrapped up for winter in his red neckerchief.
With his distinctive black, white and tan markings, soulful expression and raised hand-painted snow details, he's a lovely little celebration of this much-loved breed.
Each ceramic heart is individually hand painted by me in my Shropshire studio, which means every dog has his own expression and character. No two will ever be exactly alike, something I think makes handmade pieces rather special.
Finished with a white organza ribbon for hanging, this heart would make a thoughtful Bernese Mountain Dog gift, a keepsake for a devoted dog owner or a lovely little decoration in a dog-loving home.
Why is this a Super Second?
This Bernese Mountain Dog heart has joined my Super Seconds Festival collection because the glaze has developed crazing during firing.
Crazing appears as a network of very fine lines within the glazed surface. It means the heart doesn't quite meet the standard I require for my full-priced pieces, but it's far too lovely not to find a home.
Please note that crazing is notoriously difficult to photograph. The fine lines are often only visible when the glaze catches the light at particular angles, so I have tried to show them as clearly as possible in the photographs.
Please zoom in and look carefully at all the photographs before purchasing.
The position and amount of crazing will vary between individual hearts, and as each piece is hand painted there may also be small variations in the illustration, colour and brushwork.
Slightly imperfect? Yes.
Still a very handsome chap? Absolutely. 🐶❤️
