Albert Strongarm Handmade Ceramic Strongman Vase Super Seconds

Meet Albert Strongarm, circus strongman, tattoo collector and owner of a moustache almost as impressive as his muscles.

Once the star attraction of a travelling circus, Albert could bend iron bars, lift impossible weights and allegedly once carried an entire piano up three flights of stairs. These days he prefers a slightly quieter life, although he will still flex his muscles at the slightest opportunity.

Despite appearances, Albert is a bit of a softie. He loves roses, old-fashioned love songs and is extremely proud of his tattoos, each one supposedly marking another chapter in his colourful life. Ask him about them at your peril; he has a lot of chapters.

Handmade and individually hand-painted in my Shropshire studio, Albert Strongarm is a one-of-a-kind ceramic character vase, with his trademark red striped vest, a magnificent moustache and hand-drawn traditional tattoo inspired illustrations including swallows, playing cards, roses, a sailing ship and lion.

His head forms the opening of the vase, perfect for a few dried flowers, a little posy or favourite stems.

Why is Albert a Super Second?

Albert may be strong, but even he couldn't defeat the kiln!

There are areas of overglazing, some smudging and areas where the glaze hasn't taken as intended. These imperfections mean he doesn't quite meet my usual standards for a full-priced Sister Sister piece, so he's joining the Super Seconds Festival.

Please look carefully through the photographs, where I've shown his imperfections as clearly as possible.

As Albert is individually handmade and hand-painted, he's completely unique, there is only one available.

Perfect for lovers of quirky ceramics, circus-inspired art, characterful homeware, tattoo art and unusual handmade gifts.

Flowers not included. Muscles, moustache and questionable circus stories included as standard. 💪🎪
