Welsh Leek The Welsh Leek is said to be the earliest National Symbol of Wales and there are many myth and legends as to why it is.

My favourite is perhaps the one associated with St David, the Patron Saint of Wales who died in 589 AD. The English poet Michael Drayton in the early 1600's told a story that St David ordered his soldiers to wear leeks in a battle against the Pagan Saxon invaders of Britain so they could tell who was on which said.

The battle was also said to have taken place in a field of Leeks.

Whether this story, amongst many about the humble Leek are true or not, the Leek as a National symbol of Wales remains a firm favourite to wear on St David's Day or indeed at any of the Welsh International Rugby Matches, and so I have added it to my growing collection of Welsh Pins.

This pin is hand made from a non-toxic plastic and coated in a clear resin and mounted onto a silver coloured brass butterfly clutch tie tack pin back.

The measurements are as follows; 32mm x 60mm approximately.

Perfect gift for St David's Day, Mothers Day, Father's Day, Christmas Day or Birthdays and a must for all Welsh people. Small bubbles may occur during the curing process and this is part of the hand made process and is not a fault.

Not suitable for children under 3 years old due to sharp and small pieces.

When not wearing please store away from sunlight
